Joint Mobilization

Joint mobilization, also referred to as joint manipulation or soft-tissue mobilization is used by physical therapists to break up the fibrous muscle tissue (myofascial adhesions) and relax muscle tension. Injuries can leave behind scar tissue, making it difficult for the tissue fluids to move around.

Our expert physical therapists at Carlson Therapy Network will perform a layer-by-layer assessment to pinpoint to the area of the greatest tissue restriction. Once the area has been located, a series of systematic stretches along with applied pressure will work to mobilize the tissue and restore the joint to optimal function.
