Neurosomatic Therapy

A hands on approach to rehabilitations…

*Neurosomatic Therapy is not covered by insurance.

What is Neurosomatic Therapy?

Neurosomatic Therapy is a non-invasive form of manual therapy that identifies and corrects structural and functional patterns in the body that cause chronic pain.

NST uses careful analysis of dysfunctional postural and movement patterns to create a comprehensive therapy program that includes the five stages of rehabilitation:

•   Eliminating muscle spasm

•   Restoring flexibility

•   Restoring proper biomechanics

•   Increase muscle strength

•   Increase muscular endurance

What will my sessions be like?

Sessions are performed in comfortable clothing and begin with a gait analysis, followed by precise measurements and a detailed postural assessment. Specific deep tissue techniques are performed to the muscles and organs to correct the distortions that create chronic pain.

Who can NST help?

One of the neurological laws that neurosomatic therapy is based on is Wolff’s law which states “Form follows function, and function follows form”. In other words, your house cannot be strong if it is built on a crooked foundation.

Some examples include a slouching posture causing digestive issues, forward head carriage causing headaches, nausea, and vertigo, or a leg length inequality causing a scoliosis of the spine.

Over time, the body will make compensations for muscle pain or structural deficits like leg length inequality that affect overall function and movement patterns which will have an effect on posture and pain levels of the client.

By carefully measuring and correcting the structural and muscular distortions, pain is greatly reduced or eliminated and functionality is restored.

Neurosomatic Therapy has been shown to effectively treat:

•   TMJ Dysfunction

•   Sciatica

•   Hip Pain

•   Low Back Pain

•   Neck Pain

•   Tinnitus (Ringing in the ears)

•   Scoliosis

•   Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

•   Whiplash

•   Plantar Fasciitis

•   Migraine Headaches

•   Lower Leg Length Inequality (LLLI)

•   Frozen Shoulder
Did you know?

•   60% of the population has a leg length inequality of 5mm or more. Studies have shown that an inequality of 5mm or greater is significant enough to cause pain.

•   The number one cause of scoliosis is a tilted sacral base in the pelvis which is most often caused by a leg length inequality.

•   Leg Length Inequality can cause chronic back pain, damage to the spinal discs, piriformis syndrome and dysfunction in the pelvis

•   Treatment for a leg length inequality is relatively simple and involves the patient wearing a modest lift in the shoe of the shorter leg. The size of the lift will be customized to the client based on the measurements taken at the postural assessment.
